If you have a new roof installation coming up, there are a few things you can do to make the installation a smooth process. Our tips for a smooth roof installation are:
- Before Installation: Delivery of a dumpster and your new roofing materials will likely arrive before your roof installation begins. Communicate with the roofing company where the best location is for these items and be sure to move any cars or personal belongings from that area so that the materials and dumpster can be easily delivered. We also recommend that you remove anything valuable from the perimeter of your home. If you have landscaping around your home, you may want to cover plants or other items with a drop cloth or tarp.
- Roof Installation – We recommend that you keep all children and pets away from the areas where the roof installation is being done. There is a chance that something could fall or intentionally be dropped from the roof. At the end of your roof installation, if the company hasn’t already done a cleanup around your home, then be sure to ask them to. You don’t want nails or other debris to be left behind.
- After Installation – The dumpster and any extra materials will be picked up. It is now safe to return your parked cars or other personal items. Now, you get to enjoy the many benefits of a new roof. At this time, you will want to confirm with the roofing contractor who is expected to register the warranty if there is one.
